Should Apple release the much rumored iPhone nano, it will no doubt be extremely popular among the pay as you go crowd. As it stands right now, the iPhone 3G is still slightly too expensive to fit in that category. That being said, a publication out of UK called Daily Mail is claiming that Apple is about to launch the iPhone nano, a smaller version of the iPhone 3G sometime this Christmas holiday. The site does not have a track record for these kinds of news, so take it for what it’s worth — a big rumor.
The publication also said that the iPhone nano would be launched in the UK at up to £150 for pay-as-you-go customers by O2, the mobile phone group owned by Spain’s Telefonica. ‘This will be a big one,’ said an industry source.
‘The iPhone 3G has been the fastest-selling phone ever in the UK, but it is too expensive to be a realistic proposition in the pay-as-you-go market.
‘However, a cut down version, with the candy bar shape of iPod nano music players, would be a huge hit as a Christmas gift.’
One expert suggested the nano phone would have a touch wheel on the back and display on the front so that numbers would be dialed from behind.
iPhone nano cases are expected to launch shortly, after should Apple ever release the iPhone nano. Like I said, some of the fashion cases just look ridiculous, like they are made from weird animal skins, or faker version of those same skins, or they look like purses, crazy stuff. In general these cases offer only mediocre protection.
